The spotlight that tends to highlight my obsessions has swung round, and is currently illuminating my old love of boundaries, of the liminal and edgelands – not just those in the landscape, but those within us, both bodily and psychologically. My mind and imaginings have been full of things found on the estuaries of the Severn, on where things start and begin, on where ‘here’ starts being ‘there; or more intangibly, in the spaces in-between when the familiar and functional becomes eerie and other.
These in-between places are creative spaces, where strange things rise and unexpected connections are made; where the habits of topophilia, psychogeography and psychoterratics are developed through a mixture of loose dreaming, close observation and travelling on the land. Expect this online space to be full of musings on the same.
Charlotte, I like the look of this very much.
